The
Department of Culture, Education & University Planning
of the Xunta de Galicia (Spain) has just announced 99 PhD
grants within the framework of the 2011-2015 Galician Plan
for Research, Innovation and Growth (Plan I2C) for the year
2012, with a view to promoting the entry of university
graduates into the PhD programs of Galician
universities.
This
announcement, which will finance 99 grants, has 12 that are
specifically destined for the Campus do Mar within its lines
of specialisation. The grants for the Campus of Excellence
are mentioned in the 9th strategic axis for unique projects,
which seeks to promote high impact initiatives in strategic
sectors in which Galicia has a proven track record. The sea
is one such sector and it is so stated in section 9.2: a sea
of innovation.

The grants
destined for the International Campus of Excellence shall be
for an annual amount of 22,000 Euros gross and will be for a
duration of one year, renewable up to three years but
conditioned to a favourable report from the academic
commission of the program.
